Application for Membership

 

There are three classes of membership:

  1. Regular or Individual –
    1. Must be of full or majority age
    2. Must be engaged in the breeding or racing of thoroughbred horses
    3. Must own 100% of at least one (1) thoroughbred horse domiciled in Massachusetts and used for racing or breeding
    4. Such members have one (1) vote at annual meetings and are eligible for election to the board of directors
  2. Business  such as but not limited to: Partnerships, LLC, LLP, Estate of Farm –
    1. Must be engaged in the breeding, care or racing of thoroughbred horses
    2. Must own 100% of at least one (1) thoroughbred horse domiciled in Massachusetts and used for racing or breeding
    3. Such entity, regardless of the number of partners, shall have one (1) vote at annual meetings and shall provide MTBA with the name of that voting representative
    4. This representative is eligible for election to the Board of Directors
    5. The representative may be changed with written notice to MTBA prior to any action in which the new representative wishes to be engaged
    6. The voting representative must be of full or majority age
  3. Associate –
    1. Persons having an interest in (not necessarily financial) thoroughbred breeding and racing but are not eligible under 1. or 2. above
    2. Such members have no voting rights
    3. Such members are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors
