1.) Secretary’s
Report:
The secretary’s report from June 17, 2010 was read
and accepted.

2.) Treasurer's
Report:
Bill Robbins reported the Suffolk Downs is now caught up on wire
transfers and we are now on track to be able to offer the 8 stakes races.

3.) Chairman’s notes and
comments
a. George Brown said there was not
much to report on the bill. It’s all in
the hands of legislators now.
4.) Old Business
a. Golf Tournament 2010
Arlene Brown reported on donations and hole sponsors and that as of this
date, there are only 2 golf
teams.
b. Voting Procedures
Since Kathy Reagan did not attend, the
discussion on voting procedures was postponed.
5.) New
Business
a.) Turf Writer’s Dinner
Harland asked for volunteers who wished to go to the Turf Writer’s
Dinner.
Members going will be Ken Posco(3), Lee Loebelenz (2), Dan Joyce (2),
Harland Robbins (2), Velma Emry (1), George Brown (2), Ed Stone (1)
b) Other new Business
·
Lee Loebelenz suggested that in lieu of a
yearling show, we hire an expert to go around to farms and evaluate yearlings.
·
It was suggested that we pick a date in the
fall and all farms in the state who wished to participate would hold an open
house. MTBA could publish a list and
advertise the event.
·
Velma Emry suggested that we publish a book
advertising the local thoroughbred farms for Equine Affair.
·
Harland Robbins and Velma Emry were nominated
as the committee to present trophies and arrange for lunch and day passes for
the presenters.
